What Is Deeper Life Fellowship of Eastern Shore Like?

First and foremost, we try to be 'real.'  You're probably asking yourself, 'what in the world does 'real' mean?'  If so, here are some insights as to what you'll find when you visit us.

All too often people who go to church feel as though they have to leave their troubles at the doorstep so that those 'inside the church' won't be bothered or because they want people to think they have it 'all together.'  The problem with either of these attitudes is that if you try to disguise the problems that life (or Satan) is throwing at you, instead of dealing with them, they're never really gone.  It's rare to find anyone who can really distance themselves from their problems for an our or two so that they can enter into true worship of our Lord and Savior.  More often than not they are distracted by their problems to such a degree that they can't focus on God.

The better solution is to find a congregation who knows what it's like to 'go through stuff' and who wrestle with the issues of life themselves AND who enjoy victory over the same.

Deeper Life Fellowship seeks to be this kind of congregation.  We call it being a life-giving church.  Part of being 'life-giving' is understanding the grace that God gives us and requires that we give to others.  While grace doesn't mean turning a blind-eye to sin, it does mean being willing to stand alongside of one another while we work through such issues to become the manifested holy saints that God has already made those who have accepted Jesus as Savior.

We know that sometimes people are plagued with bad days (or even bad years) but we also know that Christians have victory over their problems because we are children of the Most High God.  So, if you're hurting and need healing feel free to let us know and we'll pray with and for you.  If you'd like to rejoice over something positive that God has brought about in your life, we'll praise Him with you.  If you just need a shoulder to cry on, an arm to lean on, or the simple comfort of knowing that you won't be looked down upon for feeling exasperated or mad at God because you don't understand why your life is going the way it is, we'll be here for you.  As brothers and sisters we have an obligation to one another to invoke the privilege that God has given us of asking our Father to reveal His will so that our relationships (to Him and between us) can be whole and righteous.

So, when you visit Deeper Life Fellowship of Eastern Shore (or Deeper Life Fellowship of Mobile), you'll find a group of people very much like the people you see everyday.  We're young, old, and in-between.  The shades of our skin vary as do our hairstyles, clothing preferences, and many other outward appearances but the two things we have in common is our love of God and of each other.  If you think you'd fit in here, you're probably right.

One last thing about 'what we're like.'  Even though our appearance is casual, our dedication to knowing God, to studying His word, to living out a Christ-like life, and to loving others is not.  We take all of these aspects very seriously.  As such, we don't have a problem teaching the Word of God as if it were His revelation to us because that's exactly what it is.
