Pastor Lonnie served as the Associate Pastor for the Deeper Life Fellowship in Mobile under the Reverend Mark Wyatt before planting Deeper Life Fellowship of Eastern Shore in Daphne, Alabama.

Lonnie gave his life to Christ at the age of 21 after studying with the Jehovah's Witnesses for about three years.  In his own words...

"In brief, here's my story.  When I began seeking to know about God the Jehovah's Witnesses were the only people who seemed truly interested in studying the Bible with me.  Unfortunately, the well-meaning Witnesses who encouraged me to dig deeper into the Bible were as lost as I was.  When I began questioning many of their doctrines they insisted that if I understood the original language of Biblical Greek I wouldn't have an issue with what the WatchTower Organization taught.  So, I studied Greek on my own for around two years but this only intensified my questions because I found that most of what they explicitly taught or implied wasn't Biblical.  In short, I studied with them for about three years until I was eventually asked to leave.

Not long after this I met a man who had dual Master's degrees in Old Testament Hebrew and New Testament Greek.  His knowledge sufficiently impressed me so that I sought his counsel concerning questions that had plagued me for years.  However, his counsel wasn't what I expected.  Instead of attempting to answer my questions from the outset of our introduction he discerned that I didn't have a relationship with Jesus Himself and was, for all intents and purposes, a questioning-agnostic.  When he asked if I'd ever read through the New Testament I admitted that while I had diligently studied some sections of it with the aid of Jehovah's Witness literature that I had not read it in it's entirety.  The subsequent challenge he posed to me turned out to be temporally and eternally life-changing.  Paraphrased, this is what he proposed:

'If there is a possibility that God exists and that the Bible really is His inspired Word, why not read through the New Testament and genuinely ask God to reveal Himself to you if He's real.'

Three days later, in the wee hours of the morning I completed the book of Revelation and there, in the quite solitude of my bed, I asked that Jesus forgive me of my sins, for Him to become the Lord of my life and my Savior, and I made a commitment to Him to serve in whatever capacity He deemed valuable for the rest of my life."

Since that time Pastor Lonnie has had the honor of helping to co-found a counter-cult ministry that focuses on evangelizing people who are involved in cults and false religions, serving as the director of outreach for three churches in three different states, writing numerous articles in defense of the Christian faith, and working alongside many ministers (lay and professional) to advance the Gospel of Heaven.  While in California Lonnie served under the leadership of then Senior Pastor Jack Little and Associate Pastor Ron Ohst (the first marriage ceremony Ron performed was for Lonnie and his wife Dawn) at Grace Chapel of the Coast.  After moving to Texas he served with Pastors Jim and Teresa Crothers at the Vineyard Christian Fellowship.  The relationships formed in these two churches, above others, stand as foundational in Pastor Lonnie's maturity as a believer in Christ.

Although he was born with two congenital cardiovascular defects and has suffered from a variety of health issues throughout his life (endocarditis, meningitis, ADD, and, most recently, cancer of the head and neck), Lonnie believes that the Lord is able to take what Satan would hope to use as a deterrent to the Gospel and use it for good.

He and his wife (Dawn) are blessed to be the parents of two wonderful children (Brance and Danielle) and the owners of an assortment of dogs, cats, rats, and fish (as well as any that might be brought in by the two younger Honeycutts.
